THE POSITION

The Applications Developer Administrator with the Pennsylvania Game Commission plays a vital role in shaping complex systems that support wildlife management and public safety. Working out of our Harrisburg Headquarters, you will have the opportunity to influence the future of statewide technology tools while working with engaged professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees the design, development, and administration of complex enterprise systems that support the mission of the Pennsylvania Game Commission. As an Applications Developer Administrator, you will perform the following duties:

  • System Leadership: Guide teams through planning, development, testing, and implementation of complex applications
  • Architecture Oversight: Validate application architecture and collaborate with technical leaders to ensure consistency across projects
  • Code Review: Review code for quality, security, and performance using approved tools and practices
  • Risk Management: Identify technical, security, and process risks and communicate them to appropriate teams
  • Security Compliance: Ensure solutions meet all required criminal justice, federal, and state governance standards
  • Issue Resolution: Lead efforts to resolve high-impact system problems in coordination with multiple divisions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Senior Applications Developer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six years of information technology experience that includes four years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
  • Four years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • This particular position also requires four or more years of full-time professional experience with SQL and .NET
