This position focuses on coordinating posted and bonded road activities, reviewing permits, supervising inspectors, and applying engineering knowledge to protect roadway conditions. The role supports maintenance decisions, permit evaluations, road upgrades, inspections, and communication with staff and applicants. As a Posted and Bonded Roads Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
- Engineering Guidance: Provide direction on standards, policies, and requirements to permit customers and departmental staff
- Road Posting Decisions: Work with maintenance units to determine which roads require reduced weight limits
- Permit Evaluation: Review Highway Occupancy Permits, local determination requests, and submissions related to roadway performance
- Agreement Management: Prepare, review, and monitor heavy hauling agreements and ensure repairs follow established procedures
- Inspection Supervision: Assign, review, and guide inspectors responsible for bonded road assessments and construction activities
- Route Review: Examine routes to identify damage, needed repairs, and compliance with bonded road requirements
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require overtime.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dunmore. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in construction inspection, including one year in a supervisory capacity; and graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
