Additional areas of focus include supporting wildfire suppression activities and assisting with efforts which protect forest resources. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain district facilities, signs, gates, kiosks, trails, and roads within the Pinchot State Forest
- Equipment Care: Complete minor repairs, adjustments, and cleaning of machinery and maintain vehicles, tools, and communication devices used for wildfire response
- Wildfire Support: Assist with wildfire suppression equipment, suppression activities, prescribed fire tasks, and wildfire prevention programs
- Construction Tasks: Install signs, gates, and kiosks, mix cement and plaster, assist in building block walls and forms, and perform minor plaster repairs
- General Repairs: Repair doors, flooring, windows, screens, faucets, drains, and electrical components while supporting maintenance staff
- Resource Protection: Support efforts to protect watershed values, flora, fauna, geologic formations, stream quality, and archeological features in the forest

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require travel and occasional overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
