Pike County Child Welfare Service is seeking a dedicated County Social Services Aide 1 who enjoys helping children, youth, and families. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides support to children, youth, and families through scheduled appointments, daily assistance, and basic clerical tasks. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Client Transport: Escort clients to medical, dental, foster care, court, and recreation appointments
- Basic Assistance: Provide simple information to clients and community members
- Daily Support: Help clients and families with routine tasks such as home care, meal planning, and budgeting
- Item Delivery: Pick up and deliver clothing, equipment, and other items as needed
- Clerical Duties: Complete tasks such as mail handling, filing, answering calls, typing, and message relay
- Record Support: Assist with maintaining case files including reviews, data entry, and notes
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
