THE POSITION

Join Columbia County Children & Youth as a County Casework Supervisor and help lead a team that protects and supports local families. This role gives you the chance to coach caseworkers, handle challenging situations, and provide direction when it matters most. You will play an important part in connecting families with resources and guidance. This is a meaningful position that lets you make a positive difference every day.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on supervising caseworkers and providing direct support in challenging family situations to ensure effective and timely services. As a County Casework Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Caseworker Supervision: Assign casework, review documentation, and ensure compliance with policies
  • Crisis Intervention: Investigate concerns, assess risk, and guide families to helpful referral services
  • Community Coordination: Communicate with attorneys, foster parents, and service providers to support families
  • Public Representation: Share agency information with community groups and participate on committees
  • Support Services: Provide direct casework during difficult situations to assist children, youth, and families
  • General Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed to assist agency operations


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
