Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to support inbound logistics operations for a food manufacturing organization in El Segundo, California. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and plays an important role in keeping materials and finished goods moving efficiently into the business while supporting broader supply chain performance. The ideal candidate will coordinate closely with internal partners and external transportation providers to maintain accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across inbound activities.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the receipt and movement of incoming materials, components, and finished products to help maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Track inbound logistics performance, measure results against established service goals, and identify opportunities to improve cost and efficiency.
• Partner with procurement, supply chain, and warehouse teams to confirm incoming shipments are properly recorded and stored upon arrival.
• Build productive working relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs partners to support reliable transportation execution.
• Investigate and resolve shipment exceptions, including delays, damages, shortages, and other transportation-related issues.
• Contribute recommendations to logistics planning efforts that strengthen operational performance and align with business objectives.
• Review applicable transportation and trade requirements to help ensure adherence to domestic and international regulations.• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain support, ideally within the food or food processing industry.
• Solid knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and inbound freight processes.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to assess issues and make sound operational decisions.
• Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working across teams and external partners.
• Experience using logistics systems, transportation management tools, or similar software platforms.
