Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Physical Therapist (PT) license issued by the state of Connecticut
  • Demonstrated experience working in school settings; prior school-based PT experience required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with educators, students, and families
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments and craft individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
  • Adept at managing a caseload and meeting deadlines in a dynamic educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services to students in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Perform evaluations, develop therapy goals, and implement treatment strategies to promote students’ mobility and access to their learning environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students’ physical development and educational progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports aligned with district and state guidelines
  • Offer guidance to teachers and families on techniques and adaptations to encourage student participation
