Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Physical Therapist (PT) license issued by the state of Connecticut
- Demonstrated experience working in school settings; prior school-based PT experience required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with educators, students, and families
- Ability to conduct thorough assessments and craft individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Adept at managing a caseload and meeting deadlines in a dynamic educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Perform evaluations, develop therapy goals, and implement treatment strategies to promote students’ mobility and access to their learning environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students’ physical development and educational progress
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports aligned with district and state guidelines
- Offer guidance to teachers and families on techniques and adaptations to encourage student participation
