Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity dedicated to supporting young adults with special needs. This full-time position focuses on teaching job readiness and independence skills to special education students aged 18 to 21 within a supportive classroom and community environment. The schedule runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week (35 paid, with 2.5 hours for unpaid lunches). You’ll work with a group of 12 students, providing individualized instruction both onsite in the classroom and in real-world community settings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active (or in-process) CDE license—your license or CDE COOL must be provided with your resume for interview eligibility
  • At least one year of direct classroom experience in a special education setting
  • Flexibility and a collaborative spirit to thrive alongside a dynamic team
  • Solid background in writing IEPs, behavior support plans (BSPs), and accurately collecting and implementing data and IEP requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction focused on job preparedness and fostering independence
  • Support students both in the classroom and during community-based learning experiences
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date IEPs and BSPs
  • Utilize data-driven methods to monitor progress and guide instruction
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students, colleagues, and families to ensure holistic support
