Special Education Teacher - Walnut Creek, CA

Anticipated for the 2026-2027 school year, you’ll join a supportive academic team, focusing on either a TK or Kindergarten-1st grade Special Day Class (SDC) caseload.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid California CTC Certification in Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Special Education
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students in a Special Education setting—preferably with SDC classes
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, specialists, and families
• Dedication to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in a TK or K-1 SDC classroom
• Develop, implement, and track IEPs in collaboration with the IEP team
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches as necessary
• Create a supportive, structured, and safe classroom culture
• Engage regularly with families, providing updates and partnership opportunities
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and educational planning
