Job Description
Responsibilities
Develop construction engineering plans, calculations, drawings, and design submittals for temporary works and construction activities.
Design and support solutions including:
Hoisting and lifting plans
Spreader beams and lifting device designs
Formwork and falsework systems
Excavation support systems
Temporary structures
Demolition engineering plans
Pumping and dewatering systems
Trench box specifications and designs
Temporary support of structures and excavations
Perform engineering analysis to ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
Collaborate with project teams to develop constructible, cost-effective engineering solutions.
Assist estimating teams during bidding by preparing conceptual designs, preliminary calculations, and construction methodologies.
Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and field conditions to identify engineering challenges.
Conduct jobsite visits to verify field conditions and provide technical support during construction activities.
Respond to field engineering questions and provide design revisions as project conditions change.
Maintain engineering documentation including calculations, drawings, certifications, inspection records, and project files.
Coordinate with warehouse teams regarding temporary works equipment inventory, inspections, and documentation.
Prepare purchase requisitions and support procurement of engineering-related materials and equipment.
Participate in project planning meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support company engineering standards and maintain awareness of industry best practices.
Participate in professional development activities and pursue PE licensure.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or Engineer Intern certification path from an ABET-accredited university.
Previous experience as a Project Engineer preferred.
Heavy civil construction experience preferred.
Experience with construction engineering, temporary works, or infrastructure projects preferred.
Ability to perform engineering calculations, develop designs, and complete project-related engineering tasks.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate within project teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Valid driver's license required.
