Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young adults as a Transitions Intensive Teacher, engaging with special education students ages 18 to 21. This full-time, contract opportunity takes place in a supportive environment where you'll empower students to build job readiness and daily independence. Collaborate with a dedicated team while working onsite from 8am–4pm, guiding a small caseload of 12 students both in the classroom and the community.
Key Qualifications:
- At least one year of classroom experience in special education
- Active or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license required; must provide verification prior to interview
- Team-oriented approach with flexibility and a collaborative mindset
- Experience in writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), collecting and analyzing data, and implementing IEP requirements
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Teach and reinforce job readiness and independent living skills to transition-age students
- Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Guide students in real-world community settings as they build independence
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance with all requirements
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, behaviors, and outcomes
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages growth and confidence
- Collaborate closely with support staff, families, and outside agencies as needed
