Occupational Therapist School Setting in Akron, OH

Step into a rewarding part-time role supporting students' growth and development as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This contract opportunity focuses on working with a diverse caseload of approximately 18 students from kindergarten through 8th grade, making a meaningful difference in their educational experience. You’ll provide expert care and guidance across roughly 12 hours per week, collaborating with school staff and families to help students build the skills they need to succeed.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current and valid OT license for the state of Ohio
• Previous experience providing occupational therapy services to school-aged children, ideally in a school setting
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and tailor interventions to individual needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities as related to educational performance
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy intervention plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ academic achievement and participation
• Document student progress, maintain required records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Adapt therapy plans as needed to address students’ evolving needs and goals
