School Psychologist - Durham, California

Make an impact in the lives of students as a part-time School Psychologist in California. This contract role offers a flexible schedule of 2–2.5 days per week, providing a great fit for experienced school psychologists seeking meaningful work within a supportive K–12 setting. You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance student learning, behavior, and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group psychoeducational assessments to identify learning disabilities, autism spectrum-related needs, behavioral challenges, and emotional disabilities.
• Evaluate student needs, recommending special education services, interventions, and accommodations to support academic and behavioral growth.
• Participate in and facilitate Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, ensuring thorough preparation, documentation, and effective coordination among teachers, parents, and team members.
• Collaborate with educators and staff to advise on instructional strategies, behavioral interventions, IEP implementation, and parental communication.
• Coordinate new student referrals, helping manage the IEP process and introducing proposed programs to families.
• Serve as a liaison between schools, families, medical providers, and mental health professionals to coordinate student referrals and services.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
• Provide consultation to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.
• Act as administrative designee when designated.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; specialist-level degree (Ed.S.) or master’s degree with at least 60 graduate units in School Psychology.
• Valid California Department of Education credential for School Psychology services.
• Certified copy of transcripts required.
• Experience with psychological assessments, special education, and school-based supports preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive working with diverse students, families, and educational teams.
