Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Retail Pharmacist in Charge opportunity is available in Prophetstown, IL, on a contract-to-hire basis with a 13-week initial term. This role offers the chance to oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards of patient care within a retail setting. The position operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, utilizing the McKesson Enterprise software system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
- Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and pharmacy documentation.
- Develop and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues and promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant workflow within the pharmacy environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active and clear Pharmacist license in Illinois.
- Experience in management or serving as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with McKesson Enterprise software is a plus.
