Special Education Teacher in Hingham, MA

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Special Education (required)
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary setting preferred
• Knowledge of IEP processes and progress monitoring
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and related service providers
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
• Empathy, patience, and dedication to student growth

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with varying educational needs in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and create accessible learning experiences
• Develop, implement, and track IEPs, ensuring compliance with regulations
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
• Create a positive, nurturing environment that encourages academic and social-emotional growth
• Assist with assessments and data collection to support student achievement
