A new opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher with advanced literacy intervention skills. This high school contract position runs from September 1st through October 30th, with the potential for extension through December. Located near Braintree, MA, you’ll work closely with students who benefit from targeted reading interventions, supporting educational progress and personal growth.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in special education and reading intervention, bringing expertise and enthusiasm to a dedicated student caseload.

Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education Teaching certification for grades 5-12 (DESE license required)
  • Orton-Gillingham or Wilson Reading Certification
  • Completion of a full-year Orton-Gillingham practicum
  • Experience with high school student populations, particularly those needing reading interventions

Role Details:

  • Contract position: September 1st–October 30th (possible extension through December)
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 35 hours per week
  • Serve a caseload of approximately 30 high school students, with possible addition of a few 8th graders
  • Implement reading programs (Orton-Gillingham or Wilson) for students with diverse learning needs
  • Monitor progress, collaborate with faculty and families, and maintain documentation
