Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or a closely related field
• Solid understanding of a variety of communication modalities, including ASL, auditory-verbal, and cued speech
• Previous experience supporting students with hearing loss in K-12 settings strongly preferred
• Familiarity with creating and implementing IEPs for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
• Skilled in adapting instruction and materials to fit individual student needs
• Sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds and the unique needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional and consultative services to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Develop tailored lesson plans and modify curriculum to ensure access to grade-level content
• Advocate for appropriate classroom accommodations and assistive technology
• Collaborate with IEP teams, including educators, therapists, and families
• Deliver professional development and support for staff regarding strategies and best practices
