Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of pediatric physical therapy principles and best practices
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to fostering student success
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ therapy needs and set measurable goals
- Design and implement tailored physical therapy interventions for students with a range of abilities
- Collaborate with faculty and interdisciplinary teams to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines
- Maintain clear and detailed documentation of therapy sessions and progress notes in accordance with school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional insights to support student plans
- Educate staff, parents, and caregivers on supporting mobility and physical skills in various school settings
- Support students in accessing their educational environment safely and effectively
