Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity right in Boulder, CO, supporting students at Manhattan Middle School as a Special Education Teacher. You’ll join a well-supported classroom environment, working side-by-side with paraeducators, a BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and school-based mental health professionals. This contract role runs from August 4, 2026, through May 21, 2027, and offers a chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of 10 dedicated students alongside collaborative peer mentors.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have at least one year of classroom experience in special education.
- Flexible team player ready to collaborate with paraeducators and ancillary staff.
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license required—or in process of obtaining (must provide documentation with application).
- Ability to deliver individualized instruction and accommodations according to IEPs.
- Enthusiasm for fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for a classroom of 10 students.
- Collaborate with paraeducators, therapists, and support staff to promote student success.
- Integrate peer mentors into daily lessons and classroom routines.
- Maintain clear communication with families and school personnel regarding student progress.
- Track goals, monitor progress, and adapt strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Uphold all state and local educational standards and compliance requirements.
