Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a collaborative, inclusive environment near the Arvada and Boulder area. This position is full-time for the 2026–2027 academic year, working closely with a dedicated team and serving a focused classroom within a middle school setting.

You’ll have the opportunity to engage with approximately 10 students, supported by peer mentors and two full-time paraeducators, as well as specialists in behavioral, speech, occupational, physical therapy, and psychological services. Your expertise will be key in helping students reach their full potential.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license in Special Education, or clear documentation of being in process—please attach this information with your application
• Minimum of one year classroom experience working directly with students
• Flexible, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary staff including BCBA, SLP, OT/PT professionals, and mental health providers

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging special education instruction in alignment with IEP goals
• Adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to meet individual student needs
• Work collaboratively with paraeducators, therapists, and support staff
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Monitor and document student progress, participating actively in IEP meetings
