Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Mid Shifts (start times vary: 6:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, or 6:30 PM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Emergency Department treating an average of 65 patients per day across all age groups, with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
\n
• Administer and monitor common ER drips including vasopressors, insulin, and other standard infusions
\n
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently, as no monitor technicians are on staff
\n
• Perform and assist with lab draws, procedures, and patient assessments in collaboration with PCTs and support staff
\n
• Work within a separate triage area when all required credentials are verified
\n
• Collaborate with 24/7 ER physicians and mid-level providers to manage diagnoses including sepsis, CHF, pneumonia, suicidal ideation, and abdominal pain
\n

Required Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
\n
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
\n
• Current BLS certification
\n
• Current ACLS certification
\n
• Current PALS certification
\n
• Ability to read and independently interpret cardiac monitor strips
\n

Preferred Experience / Skills\n

\n
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
\n
• Experience managing ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment in an ER setting
\n
• Familiarity with psychiatric patient management in an emergency environment
\n
