American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active IL license, 2+ years of L&D experience, and NRP certification.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Alternate Birthing Center (LDRP) unit of a Level 2 trauma acute care hospital \n
- Unit consists of 12 LDRP rooms and 2 triage rooms with 700 deliveries per year \n
- Patient population includes labor (vaginal or c-section), postpartum, and level II nursery newborns \n
- Follows AWHONN staffing ratios of 1:1 for labor and 1:3 for couplet care \n
- Uses EPIC EMR system \n
- Uses Obix EFM system with Philips monitors for fetal monitoring \n
- Utilizes CPAP for level II nursery patients with RT assistance for set-up \n
- 12-hour night shifts scheduled 7p-730a \n
- Required to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday nights) \n
- Required to work every other holiday \n
- Floating required hospital-wide as needed under a team nursing model \n
- No call or standby requirements \n
- Charge RN on each shift does not take a patient assignment \n
- OB techs and unit secretaries support the unit, with 1 OB tech on night shift \n
- Neonatology provider in house 24/7 \n

- Active IL RN license required \n
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required \n
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required \n
- Labor & delivery experience required \n
- Experience in all LDRP and nursery areas preferred \n
- BSN not required for this position \n
- Negative drug screen required for all panels \n
- \n
- Provide direct nursing care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients in an LDRP setting \n
- Assist with CPAP setup and monitoring for level II nursery patients alongside RT support \n
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts depending on traveler experience \n
- Hospital-provided scrubs required for dress code \n
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a reduced local pay rate \n
- No radius rule restricts eligibility for this position \n
- COVID vaccination is not required for this position \n
- Facility operates as a Drug-Free Campus \n
