Requirements:

    \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • \n
  • Certification required — NMTCB or ARRT (N)
  • \n
  • State radiologic/nuclear medicine license (as applicable)
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • 1+ years of nuclear medicine experience required
  • \n
  • Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety protocols
  • \n
\n

Duties:

\n
    \n
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients per physician orders
  • \n
  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures (bone scans, cardiac studies, PET/CT, thyroid scans, etc.)
  • \n
  • Operate and maintain gamma cameras, PET scanners, and related imaging equipment
  • \n
  • Calculate and verify proper radiopharmaceutical dosages, ensuring patient safety
  • \n
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after radiopharmaceutical administration
  • \n
  • Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed for patients and staff
  • \n
  • Accurately document exams, dosages, and patient records in RIS/PACS systems
  • \n
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and dose calibrators
  • \n
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials per regulatory guidelines
  • \n
  • Collaborate with radiologists/physicians on imaging findings and follow-up care
  • \n
