American Traveler is hiring a Part-Time RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a WI or compact RN license and NRP certification.
Details\n- \n
- Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit caring for maternal and newborn patients \n
- Cross-training and coverage of Med Surg/EICU patients when needed \n
- Part-time schedule of 2 shifts (12 hours each) per week \n
- Night shift hours from 1900-0730 \n
- Weekend rotation required \n
- \n
- Active WI or compact RN license required \n
- BLS certification required within 1 month of hire \n
- NRP certification required within 6 months of hire \n
- ALSO certification required within 1 year of hire \n
- STABLE certification required within 1 year of hire \n
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required within 1 year of hire \n
- Two-year nursing degree required, four-year degree preferred \n
- No prior experience required \n
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required \n

- Complete initial nursing histories, assessments, and individualized plans of care for L&D patients \n
- Triage patient care based on presenting symptoms \n
- Assess labor progression and manage induction and cervical ripening \n
- Manage medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, meconium management, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa \n
- Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring \n
- Manage pregnancy-related conditions such as hypertension and diabetes \n
- Assess newborn condition and identify need for escalated care \n
- Perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification \n
- Recognize and manage neonatal sepsis \n
- Monitor newborns for adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice \n
- Promote patient education and involvement in newborn care \n
- Communicate patient status changes promptly to the care team \n
