Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Job Summary:
\n Provides health care services by applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis. Performs Sonography procedures, computer processing, and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a Radiologist, Cardiologist, or a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
Job Responsibilities:

- Produce quality images for Radiologist/Cardiologist review with correct interpretation. \n
- Prepare copies of images and record image release in the electronic health record. \n
- Verify images archived to PACS and notify the PACS administrator of any issues. \n
- Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed. \n
- Participate in image Peer Review with Lead. \n
- Work with Lead, Radiologist, and Cardiologist on ACR accreditation as needed. \n
- Assist US Coordinator, Radiology Manager, and Radiology Director in equipment and software selections. \n
- Order and/or restock supplies and linens. \n
- Report all equipment malfunctions to the proper personnel. \n
- Report any environmental safety concerns to proper personnel. \n
- Work with Lead and vendors to schedule maintenance on equipment. \n
- Collaborate with the EHR team, Lead, Radiology Manager, and/or Radiology Director on changes/needs for the Electronic Health Record (EHR). \n
- Verify orders, patient name/birth date, and history. \n
- Document all incidents related to patient care in electronic health records (e.g., incident reports, medications given). \n
- Perform and document time-out procedures for invasive procedures. \n
- Follow department protocol for all exams. \n
- Provide initial interpretation for exams per department protocol. \n
Required Qualifications:

- Less than one (1) year of experience. \n

Preferred Qualifications:

- One (1) or two (2) years in Special Imaging in Ultrasound. \n
Required Education:
\n
- \n
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program. \n
Required Certifications & Licensure:
\n
- \n
- BLS Certification. \n
- One of the following certifications is required:\n
- \n
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen Certification. \n
- ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification. \n
\n
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
\n

- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Certification. \n
