Job Responsibilities:
\n -Participate in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions according to departmental terminology and protocols including; marking abnormalities, rendering diagnoses and determining cases for quality control or subsequent review with pathologist.
\n -Perform various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols.
\n -Evaluates acceptability as associated with department testing.
\n
Required Education:
\n --One of the following:
\n -Bachelor’s Degree.
\n -Completion of a Cytotechnology Program and Certificate of completion.
\n
Required Certifications & Licensure:
\n -American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) - Cytologist (CT).
\n -BLS - AHA.
