- At least 1 year of echocardiography experience in a hospital, cardiology, or clinical setting \n
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Vascular/Echocardiography, or an allied health background with on-the-job training \n
- CCI or ARDMS cardiac sonographer certification, or registry eligibility \n
- Current CPR certification required \n
- Experience with 2-D echo, M-mode, spectral Doppler, color flow Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography preferred \n
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills \n
- Ability to pass required competencies, including rhythm recognition \n
- \n
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to capture accurate anatomical, pathological, and functional cardiac data \n
- Complete stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, 2-D echo with M-mode, color flow, and cardiac Doppler studies \n
- Assist with cardiovascular diagnostic tests such as EKGs, event monitor applications, cardiac monitoring, pulmonary function tests, lower extremity Doppler studies, and stress testing as needed \n
- Document procedure information in patient charts and EMR systems, and promptly report critical results to physicians \n
- Maintain, clean, and disinfect cardiology equipment and accessories to support a safe patient care environment \n
- Support department operations through supply inventory, clerical tasks, patient transport, and telephone coordination \n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, monthly cardiovascular meetings, and ongoing education efforts \n
- Assist in supervising students and precepting new team members \n
- Promote patient privacy, respect patient rights, and deliver compassionate, family-centered care \n
