Summary

The Operations Manager will lead the Operations team in Mesa, AZ that includes: Cable manufacturing, SiO2 Operations, Assembly Operations, Purchasing, Planning, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.  This is a Senior Management position responsible for continuing an operation that supports excellent customer service, on time delivery and unquestioned product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee Assembly, SiO2, Cable Manufacturing, Materials/Planning and Supply Chain

  • Supervise the Operations team that includes Production Supervisors, Planners, and Maintenance

  • Develop a strong and effective Operations team. Provide positive and objective coaching/mentorship of team members

  • Implement an optimal organizational structure to grow and support the growing business in Mesa

  • Focus on results: drive the team to achieve OTD, quality and financial metrics including revenue and profitability targets

  • Participate in establishing Operations goals and objectives. Monitor progress

  • Strive for superior customer service (on-time delivery and responsiveness)

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through rigorous root cause analysis, improvement initiatives and the application of Lean tools and techniques

  • Plan and recommend necessary resources to ensure success, including capital equipment, team members, appropriate facilities, effective infrastructure and materials

  • Promote environmental, health and safety philosophies and processes that reduce workplace injuries

  • Emphasize and reinforce TMS Core Values, EHS/Quality policies and Safety procedures

Job Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for growing a customer-focused business

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Business or Engineering strongly preferred. MBA preferred

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, teach, train and motivate others

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth industry; willing to be hands-on and take initiative

  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing

  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Solid communication skills

  • Strong orientation towards customer focus and teamwork

  • Travel up to 15%
