PURPOSE OF POSITION:Arthur Companies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our finance and accounting team. This internship provides hands-on experience in agricultural accounting, grain operations support, and financial reporting within a multi-location organization.The Accounting Intern will assist with day-to-day accounting functions while gaining exposure to real-world business operations in the agriculture industry.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting SupportAssist with daily accounting transactions and data entrySupport accounts payable and accounts receivable processesReconcile bank statements and general ledger accountsHelp prepare journal entries and supporting documentationGrain & Operational Accounting SupportAssist with grain settlement documentation and data verificationSupport inventory tracking and reconciliationHelp prepare reports related to margins and operational performanceParticipate in month-end close support activitiesReporting & AnalysisCompile financial data for internal reportingAssist in preparing spreadsheets and analysis in ExcelSupport special projects and ad hoc financial analysisAdministrative & Team SupportOrganize and maintain accounting files and documentationSupport process documentation and internal control proceduresCollaborate with operations and location staff as neededOther duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS:Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBasic understanding of accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentialityPreferred QualificationsInterest in agriculture or agribusinessPrior internship or work experience in accounting or financeFamiliarity with ERP systems (experience not required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computerFrequent use of hands and fingers for typing and data entryOccasional lifting of up to 15 poundsOther physical requirements as assignedArthur Companies is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.ABOUT THE COMPANY:The Arthur Companies is a diversified agricultural business that includes grain, agronomy services, birdseed and a fertilizer company.
