Training will be provided on our FMS programs, systems, and processes.

  • Identify potential overspending, underspending, funding shortages, discrepancies, or unusual activity.
  • Analyze budget utilization and spending trends.
  • Review approved budget modifications and ensure changes are accurately reflected in financial records and reports.
  • Reconcile participant budget activity and research discrepancies.
  • Assist participants and appropriate representatives with questions regarding budget balances and financial reports.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for participants, management, program partners, and other authorized stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation supporting budget adjustments and financial activity.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to research and resolve participant budget concerns.
  • Support financial reporting requirements for FMS programs in California, Michigan, Utah, and other states.
  • Assist with audits and program reviews by preparing financial reports and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant and financial information.
  • Participate in training and stay informed of applicable FMS program requirements and procedures.
  • Perform other participant budget and financial management duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • New graduates and entry-level candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn additional financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to individuals who may not have a financial or accounting background.
  • Comfortable participating in virtual meetings and presenting budget information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following experience is a plus:
  • Previous internship or work experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis.
  • Experience with Financial Management Services (FMS) or fiscal intermediary services.
  • Familiarity with participant-directed or self-directed services.
