Ready to put your MRI expertise to work? We’re looking for an experienced MRI Technologist to join a dedicated Diagnostic Imaging team in Waterbury, CT. Job Details- Position: MRI Technologist
- Location: Waterbury, CT
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Day Shift
- Schedule: 5×8
- Experience Required: 1 Year
- Weekly Pay: $2,800 to $3,000
- Perform diagnostic MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Screen patients thoroughly for MRI safety, including implants, devices, medical history, and contraindications
- Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Explain MRI procedures to patients and provide reassurance, particularly to patients experiencing anxiety or claustrophobia
- Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently according to manufacturer and facility guidelines
- Select appropriate imaging sequences and protocols based on the examination requested
- Administer contrast media when authorized and monitor patients for potential adverse reactions
- Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat sequences when necessary
- Maintain accurate patient information and procedure documentation in the EMR and PACS
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical or maintenance concerns promptly
- Follow MRI safety, infection prevention, radiation safety, HIPAA, and patient-care standards
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations within the MRI environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-friendly imaging area
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology program
- Minimum 1 year of recent MRI Technologist experience
- ARRT certification with MRI credentials preferred or required by facility
- Active Connecticut Radiologic Technologist license, as applicable
- Current BLS Certification required
- Strong knowledge of MRI anatomy, positioning, protocols, and safety procedures
- Experience with contrast administration and patient monitoring preferred
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy diagnostic imaging environment
