About the Position
LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Pain Med MD in Charleston, West Virginia, 25309!
We are seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Pain Management for an engaging 260-day assignment in West Virginia, starting Nov 2, 2026. The schedule involves consistent 8a-4p shifts, where the chosen clinician will admit and coordinate all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients, including comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and proactive discharge planning. This role also encompasses performing specialized procedures such as moderate sedation, fluoroscopy, intubation, spinal cord stimulator implantation, and electrodiagnostic studies.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Admit and coordinate all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients, including:
- Admission, including history and physical examinations
- Appropriate placement within the hospital
- Evaluation and treatment, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies (laboratory, diagnostic imaging, electrocardiographic examinations), and the administration of medications
- Discussion of end-of-life performances / advanced care planning
- Consultations with sub-specialists
- Timely and proactive discharge planning
- Coordination of care with primary care physicians
- Discharge, ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged
- Perioperative care
- Perform additional procedures including:
- Moderate sedation
- Fluoroscopy
- Intubation
- Surgical implantation/revision/removal of spinal cord stimulator leads and generators
- Surgical implantation/revision/removal of spinal medication delivery pumps and catheters (continuous epidural infusions)
- Acupuncture/Acupressure
- Perform and interpret electrodiagnostic procedures, such as electromyography and nerve conduction studies
