Lead Access Control Officer - Poughkeepsie, NY - $21.50/hr. - Now Hiring

Poughkeepsie, NY | Full-Time | $21.50/Hour | Monday–Friday

We are seeking a professional and experienced Lead Security Officer to join our team at a high-profile commercial construction site in Poughkeepsie, NY.

This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who is confident taking a leadership role, supporting daily security operations, and maintaining a professional presence in a busy work environment.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Pay: $21.50/hour
• Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to security officers assigned to the site
• Monitor and maintain access control procedures
• Conduct regular patrols and security inspections
• Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports
• Monitor site activity and identify potential security concerns
• Enforce site policies and procedures
• Assist with visitor, employee, contractor, and vendor access
• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
• Communicate effectively with site management, security personnel, and other stakeholders
• Help ensure the security team maintains a professional, customer-service-focused presence at all times

Required Qualifications

• Active NYS Driver’s License
• Clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must be willing to provide proof of education
• Valid NYS Security Guard License strongly preferred
• Previous security leadership, lead officer, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Important Security License Requirement

Candidates must have an active NYS Security Guard License or otherwise meet the licensing requirements for consideration.

If you previously held a NYS Security Guard License that has expired, we cannot consider you for this position, as the renewal/relicensing process may take approximately 3–4 months.
