Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Critical Access Hospital, requiring 1+ year of experience and covering Outpatient, Acute Care, and Long Term Care settings.
Details
- Small, 46-bed Critical Access Hospital setting
- Cover Outpatient, Acute Care, and Long Term Care/swing bed units
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- No weekend or call requirements
- 13-week assignment length
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs across Outpatient, Acute Care, and LTC
- Epic EMR system used for charting
- Open to accommodating a block schedule
Requirements
- Active AK Occupational Therapy license required (if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS certification required
- NBCOT certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Treat diverse patient populations including orthopedic, pediatric, and general acute care cases
- Utilize modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, TENS, biofeedback, and cardiac rehabilitation
- Provide splinting services including static, dynamic, and functional splints
- Work with prosthetics and orthotics for upper and lower extremities
- Any scrub color permitted
- Facility provides housing during the assignment, typically a 1-bedroom apartment which may be shared with another traveler
- Pets are not allowed in provided housing
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent staff may return as a traveler after a 3-month waiting period
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the state
- Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
