CDL Class B Driver - Smash Truck Operator (Part-Time/Home Nightly)

Employment Type: Part-Time, ~25-30 hours per week (M/W/F)
Compensation: $23-24 per hour
Route Location: St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Zephyrhills, Brooksville

Position Overview

We are seeking a responsible CDL Smash Truck Driver to join Smash My Trash in the Palmetto area for a part-time position. You will be responsible for safely operating our trucks, which are outfitted with a 3-ton rolling drum on a boom that you operate to SMASH the contents of open-top waste containers (dumpsters). This requires your ability to carefully maneuver and operate the equipment at each customer's facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service as the face of the company.
• Drive routes throughout Clearwater and surrounding areas.
• Safely operate a 25,000-pound Kenworth T270 truck.
• Skillfully control hydraulic equipment to compact waste.
• Use a smartphone app to track routes and log activities.
• Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections and document findings.
• Report any mechanical issues or incidents to dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance on the truck and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical repairs on trucks and hydraulic systems as needed.
• Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications (Do Not Apply Unless You Meet These Requirements)

• Valid CDL license.
• Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
• Must pass a 5-year background check.
• Strong job history demonstrating reliability.
• Proficient with smartphones and mobile apps for tracking work activities.
• Ability to operate hydraulic machinery.
• Ability to diagnose and address minor truck and equipment issues on-site is a plus.
