Pharmacy Cashier

Lexington Prescription Center is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Pharmacy Cashier. The Pharmacy Cashier serves as the first and last point of contact for many customers and plays an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience. This position is responsible for assisting customers with purchases, processing transactions accurately, answering phones, and supporting the pharmacy team with daily front-end operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
• Assist customers with prescription pick-up and over-the-counter purchases.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising over-the-counter products
• Keep the front-end area clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to notify customers when prescriptions are ready for pickup.
• Assist customers with locating products throughout the store.
• Support smooth workflow during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
• Some Saturday hours are required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous cashier, retail, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Dependable
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
