The Account Manager Employee Benefits will manage a book of approximately 1015 self-funded, mid-to-large group accounts (ranging from a couple hundred to a few thousand covered lives) in a fast-paced, transactional environment. Key responsibilities include:

Job Description
The Account Manager Employee Benefits will manage a book of approximately 1015 self-funded, mid-to-large group accounts (ranging from a couple hundred to a few thousand covered lives) in a fast-paced, transactional environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Producer in developing new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects
- Initiating the renewal process, and discussing and creating renewal strategy with the Producer
- Analyzing and comparing current exposures, and developing renewal or new business marketing specifications
- Conducting marketing efforts, negotiating rates, and reviewing quotes and coverages for competitiveness and accuracy
- Reviewing and summarizing marketing results and preparing client proposals
- Finalizing proposals and presentations in coordination with the Producer
- Binding insurance coverage and preparing binders and/or delegating certificate issuance
- Reviewing policies and contracts for accuracy
- Preparing coverage summaries and/or schedules for clients
- Reviewing client accounting history, responding to accounting inquiries, correcting discrepancies, and following up on receivable collections
- Participating in the claims process as directed, including claim submission, follow-up, and communication
- Providing technical guidance to staff on client needs or procedural issues
- Notifying brokers of information pertinent to client retention
- Meeting with clients as needed or as directed by the Producer
- Collecting fees and resolving outstanding balances within 90 days of invoicing
- Maintaining complete, accurate data within the agency management system
- Performing other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 34 years of Account Management experience within employee benefits/insurance
- Experience managing self-funded, mid-to-large group accounts (a couple hundred to a few thousand lives)
- Valid insurance license, with ability to meet Continuing Education requirements for renewal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills, including strong telephone and listening abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a team and foster teamwork
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and time management skills
