Job Description
Agriculture Warehouse Associate
Location: Hazel, MN 56754
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Contract (Through November/Freeze-Up) with Potential for Permanent Hire
Position Overview
We are seeking dependable and hardworking Agriculture Warehouse Associates to support grain elevator operations during the busy harvest season. This role is ideal for individuals with agricultural, mechanical, warehouse, or general labor experience who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates must be comfortable working extended hours during peak harvest periods, operating around grain handling equipment, and performing physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
This is an all-hands-on-deck position where teamwork, safety, and a strong work ethic are essential to success.
Schedule
1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
During peak harvest season, schedules may extend to:
- 7:00 AM to as late as 10:00 PM
- 5 to 7 days per week
- Increased hours typically begin in mid-to-late September
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with grain elevator operations during harvest season.
- Dump grain trucks and assist with loading and unloading trucks and railcars.
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading activities.
- Open hatches, loosen large nuts, collect samples, and attach/detach hoses as needed.
- Load and unload agricultural products using loaders, conveyors, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Operate and monitor automated dump and scale systems.
- Monitor inventory quality and ensure proper handling of commodities.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities.
- Lubricate equipment and inspect machinery for leaks, wear, or needed repairs.
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties, including sweeping, shoveling, scraping, power washing, and spill cleanup.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with customers.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety issues, and customer complaints promptly.
- Follow all company policies, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
- Support additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth facility operations.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of operations, warehouse, manufacturing, agriculture, or business operations experience.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
- Comfortable working at heights, including climbing grain elevators, ladders, stairs, railcars, and bins.
- No grain or dust allergies.
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work safely in outdoor environments and changing weather conditions.
Preferred
- Agricultural or farming experience.
- Mechanical aptitude or equipment maintenance experience.
- Experience operating loaders, conveyors, tractors, forklifts, or similar equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb ladders, grain bins, railcars, and elevated work areas.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in dusty environments and varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
