Job Summary:
The CT Technologist position is located in a healthcare setting, performing computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires the use of independent judgment and technical expertise to deliver high-quality scans, supporting accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: - Certification: ARRT (R) (CT), BLS (AHA), Radiation Badge. - Education: Associate degree. - Licensure: Licensure in the state of practice as applicable. - Experience: 2 years of CT and acute care experience preferred; minimum of 0 years required.
- Preferred Qualifications: One (1) to Two (2) years CT experience and one (1) to Two (2) years healthcare setting experience.
- Demonstrates understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency.
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating CT equipment and understanding of imaging techniques and protocols.
- Knowledge of contrast administration, including contrast injector operation.
- Proficiency with electronic imaging systems including image viewing, transfer, and manipulation.
- Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication and task prioritization skills.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assists and instructs students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
- Follows proper infection control and sterile techniques.
- Keeps accurate records of patient procedures and adverse reactions.
- Administers contrast media under physician supervision, following safety protocols, and educates patients on contrast safety.
- Participates in continuing education to stay current with advances in CT technology and protocols.
