Schedule: 8-hour days; exact times are flexible but must remain consistent and be communicated with DOR
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience – REQUIRED
- LTC or Rehabilitation experience – REQUIRED
- Experience providing OT services to patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders
- Experience developing and implementing individualized plans of care
- Experience with patient evaluations, treatment interventions, progress assessments, and discharge planning
Required License
- Active Missouri Occupational Therapist (OT) license – REQUIRED
Required Certifications
- No specific national certification listed
- Must practice in accordance with NBCOT/AOTA and Missouri state practice requirements
Key Skills / Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL-related functional disorders.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on clinical findings and regulatory standards.
- Provide skilled rehabilitation services, including:
- ADL retraining
- Therapeutic activities
- Therapeutic exercises
- Modalities
- Supportive and assistive devices
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide education and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, rehabilitation meetings, trainings, and in-services.
- Assist with obtaining necessary DME and supplies.
- May supervise and support COTA/OTA staff, rehabilitation aides, and students.
- Maintain compliance with NBCOT/AOTA standards and Missouri state practice laws and ethics.
Submission Requirements
- Active Missouri OT license
- 1+ year OT experience
- LTC or Rehab experience
