This position utilizes precision measuring equipment, interprets technical documentation, supports quality system activities, and assists in identifying and resolving quality issues. The Quality Control Inspector II serves as a resource to production personnel and may assist in training less experienced inspectors.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Verify product conformity using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements
- Accurately document inspection, testing, and measurement results.
- Identify and document nonconforming product and ensure proper segregation and disposition.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities for quality issues.
- Maintain inspection records and controlled documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
- Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment prior to use and assist with calibration record maintenance.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Communicate quality concerns and inspection results to production, engineering, and management teams.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
- Train and mentor Quality Control Inspector I personnel as assigned.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a technical or manufacturing-related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
- AS9102 First Article Inspection experience preferred
- Visual acuity, color recognition, and depth perception necessary to perform inspection functions
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and quality assurance principles.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.
- Proficiency in the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other measuring devices.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T preferred.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and quality documentation systems.
- Experience with ERP systems, calibration systems, or similar quality systems preferred
