Tandem Assembler – Medical Device Manufacturing
Location: San Diego, CA 92121
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday | 4:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Tandem Assemblers to join a fast-paced medical device manufacturing team. This position involves manual assembly, automated machine operation, visual inspection, packaging, and kitting of medical device products, including cartridges and syringes.
Employees will rotate between different production stations based on daily production needs and will receive comprehensive hands-on training.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual assembly of cartridges and small medical device components by snapping, positioning, and screwing parts together.
- Load and unload automated or semi-automated production equipment.
- Perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects and ensure products meet quality standards.
- Package and kit finished products, including labeling cartridges and syringes with barcodes.
- Follow SOPs, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality procedures.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Rotate between assembly, automation, inspection, packaging, and kitting stations.
- Perform occasional manual material handling using a small pallet jack as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Meet daily production, quality, and attendance expectations.
- Work closely with team members, leads, and engineers to ensure products are assembled and packaged correctly.
Note: This is not a full bunny-suit/cleanroom environment, and full cleanroom PPE is not required.
Training & Certification
No prior medical device experience is required for the right candidate. New employees receive hands-on training covering:
- Assembly procedures and techniques
- Equipment operation
- Inspection and quality requirements
- Packaging and kitting procedures
- Reading and following work instructions
- Hands-on practice with a one-on-one trainer
- Final training with engineers
- Certification before working independently

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality
- Experienced in manufacturing, assembly, production, or fast-food service preferred
- Entry-level candidates with strong work ethic and attention to detail are encouraged to apply
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Manufacturing, assembly, production, or fast-food experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining quality
- Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Willingness to rotate between production stations
