Job Description
Position Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Duration: Full-time
Location: Rancho Dominguez, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $125,000 – $150,000/year (depending on experience)
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the development of our next- generation CNC control system. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on electrical design, PCB development, machine integration, and advanced troubleshooting.
Who we are looking for / Requirements:
- Degree: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering or industrial control systems
- Core Skills: Strong circuit design, PCB development, and hardware debugging skills
- Software & Tools: Experience with Altium or OrCAD PCB software; experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and electronic test tools
- Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of CNC motion control systems (motors, encoders, servo drives)
- Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD Electrical software
- Experience with EtherCAT motion control networks
- Familiarity with spindle and axis drive integration as well as Delta and Yaskawa software
- Software development background (C/C++, embedded systems, PLCs)
- Experience in robotics/automation systems
- Experience working with Electrical Inspectors for UL and NFPA conformity
Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing:
- Design and develop electrical systems for CNC machine tool controls and Windows-based platforms
- Create circuit designs, schematics, and PCB layouts for production electronics
- Design electrical cabinets, schematics, cable, and wire assemblies
- Select electrical and electronic components and identify second sources
- Integrate EtherCAT-based motion control systems for axis, spindle motors, and distributed I/O
- Troubleshoot complex machine and control issues across electrical, electronic, software, and mechanical domains
- Collaborate with customer service to troubleshoot current and legacy machines and controls
- Design and build test equipment to validate production control hardware
- Utilize AI-assisted tools to enhance engineering productivity and debugging efficiency
- Work alongside Electrical Inspectors to ensure UL and NFPA conformity
