Job Title: Civil Engineering Support Specialist
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Duration: Base Period (September 2026 – May 2027) plus four option years approx.
Job Overview: We are seeking a Civil Engineering Support Specialist to provide expert-level technical support for the full lifecycle of federal facilities and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will support the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES) in strengthening sustainable infrastructure through comprehensive project planning, expert design, and diligent construction management to support critical space operations and tenant missions.
Core Responsibilities
- Design & Planning: Lead the planning and design of multi-phase construction and renovation projects, including the preparation of detailed calculations, cost estimates, technical drawings, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Technical Consultancy: Serve as a primary coordinator between engineers, architects, and agencies (like the Army Corps of Engineers) to integrate technical requirements and resolve field issues.
- Execution & Oversight: Plan and execute engineering projects using Government cost-estimating tools (AFCAMP); provide bi-weekly technical recommendations on constructability and project submittals.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Collect and analyze field data using CADD, GIS, and BIM to support facility condition assessments and long-range infrastructure priorities.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of federal/state codes, environmental laws, and health/safety standards (AFOSH).
- Software Proficiency: High degree of skill in engineering automation software and drafting techniques for preparing complete project documentation
Security Clearance/Access: Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) for unescorted access to restricted military areas.
