Pay: $17-$26/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing clinical team. The Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support to providers, ensuring patients receive efficient, professional, and high-quality care throughout their visit.
This role is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and has strong patient communication skills. Experience in Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine, Primary Care, or Epic is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Review the daily schedule and complete chart preparation and patient pre-visit planning
Prepare and stock exam rooms to ensure providers have the necessary supplies and equipment
Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and allergy information
Review and update patient medical records and ensure documentation is complete and accurate
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, injections, and other clinical needs
Administer injections, including flu and biologic injections, in accordance with established protocols
Complete and process patient paperwork and clinical documentation
Manage provider-assigned tasks within the EMR, including prescription refills, orders, and follow-up needs
Triage patient concerns and assist with medication-related questions as appropriate
Handle inbound and outbound patient calls, including follow-up testing, prescription refills, and care coordination
Place and follow up on orders and communicate necessary information to patients and providers
Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, testing, and other aspects of patient care
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate with patients in a professional, compassionate manner
Collaborate closely with other Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, providers, and the Office Team Leader
What to Expect:
Support approximately 20-40 patients per day
Approximately 30 inbound/outbound calls per day, shared with another Medical Assistant
Work closely with approximately 9 providers
Join a team consisting of 3 Medical Assistants, 2 Front Desk team members, and 1 Office Team Leader
Use WebChart EMR, with the practice transitioning to Epic
Receive support from your MA counterpart while managing a variety of clinical and patient communication responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
Medical Assistant diploma or certification required
Strong clinical and patient service skills
Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs and medical histories
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Pulmonology
Experience in Sleep Medicine
Experience in Primary Care
Previous experience with Epic EMR
Previous experience managing provider tasks, medication refills, orders, and patient follow-up
