Special Education Teacher in Gettysburg, PA

This contract position runs from August 2026 through June 2027, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Bring your commitment and expertise to make a meaningful impact throughout the school year.

What you’ll need to thrive:

• Current Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education
• Previous experience working with students with autism or in special education settings preferred
• Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse learning needs
• Confidence managing classrooms and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances before the start date
• Willingness to complete assigned pre-trainings before assignment

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering high-quality instruction to students in Autistic Support classrooms, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
• Creating a welcoming, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborating with educational support staff, related service providers, and families to foster student growth
• Developing and maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation for students’ progress and IEP compliance
• Participating in required pre-placement trainings and professional development activities
• Adapting to potential changes in assignment within the learning center as needed
