Social Worker in Upper Darby, PA

Step into a meaningful role making a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated School Social Worker. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 24, 2026, and runs through June 10, 2027, with two openings supporting either middle or elementary grade levels. You’ll work onsite Monday to Friday, 8:30AM-4PM, at vibrant locations focused on fostering student growth and well-being.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Active Master of Social Work (MSW) license in Pennsylvania required
• School Social Worker Educational Specialist certificate OR
• Hold an emergency permit, are an LSW or LCSW, and are currently enrolled in a PDE-approved social worker program
• Prior school-based social work experience is essential
• Comfortable working within urban school communities
• Ability to obtain/complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
• Ready for a virtual Zoom interview process

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with educators and staff to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Provide individual and group counseling for students
• Support family engagement and connect families to community resources
• Develop intervention strategies and crisis support plans
• Maintain detailed records and comply with school and state documentation requirements
• Contribute to a positive school culture, advocating for students within the educational system
