Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. The primary responsibilities include supporting physicians in a value-based care model by spending extended time with patients to build strong relationships. The patients primarily comprise the senior population, with services offered in retail-like clinic settings.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake processes with patients, including measuring and recording vital signs, patient interviews, and medical histories.
  • Perform examinations and routine screenings.
  • Perform strong phlebotomy skills.
  • Engage and listen to patients critically, and report findings to the PCP.
  • Process patient phone messages, return calls, and relay information to patients/physicians.
  • Administer first aid procedures such as changing dressings and applying bandages.
  • Utilize CPR skills when necessary.
  • Provide health coaching to patients.
  • Assist with rooming members, taking vitals, performing EKGs, and administering injections.
  • Assist with admin work, quality measures, and urgent referrals.


Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification and/or Diploma not required, but preferred.


Experience

  • Experience working with the elderly patient population.
  • 6+ months phlebotomy experience is highly desired.
  • Experience in value-based care is preferred.


Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Experience with EClinicalWorks or similar EMR systems.
  • Strong ability to work with diverse populations including staff, providers, members, and more.
  • Soft skills: Adaptability, team player, punctuality, and readiness to learn.
  • ECW experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable with phlebotomy and lab work.


Additional Requirements

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; no PRN or late starts/early outs.
