- Pay: $22.23–$27.37/hr. (based on experience) + Benefits
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a collaborative Primary Care outpatient clinic in New Hope, Minnesota.
The Medical Assistant will support providers and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient, patient-centered care to patients across the lifespan, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant with recent Primary Care experience who is comfortable working in a busy outpatient clinic and performing both clinical and administrative duties.
-> Key Responsibilities
- Room and prepare patients for provider visits, including obtaining vital signs and documenting relevant clinical information.
- Support patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed and within scope of practice.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing as required.
- Perform phlebotomy duties when qualified.
- Provide telephone support and facilitate communication between patients and providers.
- Assist with prescription refill requests and follow-up communication.
- Support prior authorization processes and care coordination.
- Assist with front-desk/check-in activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
- Communicate patient concerns, questions, and changes in condition to the appropriate clinical team members.
- Follow infection-control procedures, patient-safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
-> Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by a recognized organization such as ABHES or CAAHEP, OR qualifying RMA program with required on-the-job experience and certification.
- Previous Primary Care experience required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Ability to manage multiple clinical and administrative tasks in a busy outpatient environment.
-> Important Eligibility Requirement
Candidates must have Primary Care experience and a current BLS certification. Candidates must also meet the required Medical Assistant education/certification criteria.
