Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of middle school students by stepping into a special education classroom in the Boulder, CO area for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position offers you the chance to use your expertise as part of a dynamic, supportive team dedicated to inclusive education. You’ll work in a classroom serving 10 students, aided by two full-time paraeducators and a team that includes a BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and Psych/SW support staff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience in a special education setting.
- Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) special education teacher license, or in the process of securing one (must submit a copy of active license with your application).
- Strong teamwork skills and a flexible, collaborative attitude.
- Comfortable working onsite throughout the full academic year, from August 4, 2026 to May 21, 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment alongside peer mentors and support staff.
- Work closely with specialists (BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, Psych/SW) to meet students’ behavioral, communicative, and emotional needs.
- Maintain open communication with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student progress.
- Support paraeducators in their roles within the classroom.
